My goal for this class in the begining was to better my essay writing. This was a class that I need for my degree in Fire Science. I have actually enjoyed it even though english was never my best subject. I will use my degree to better my chances for promotion at my current job with the Portsmouth Fire Department. I have worked as a firefighter for 4 years now and I have enjoyed every minute so far. I work with the technical rescue team. So after 4 years I have decided to try and move up the ranks to lieutenant.  The promotion process consist of a written test and a interview. The combonation of these scores ranks you on a least. You also get extra points for certain classes and college degrees. So that is the main reason why I am persuing this degree. It has also been a personnal goal of mine.
